ESG funds have swept up investor interest and their mine as more funds launch that target the space in more interesting and nuanced ways. Approximately nine ESG funds had launched at this point last year; 2022 has seen approximately 20 ESG-centric funds launched, as well as an influx of flows into these environmentally conscious ETFs.

Funds that invest with a sustainability focus, whether through an environmental, social, or governance lens, account for about 4% of the global ETF market in terms of assets. ESG-themed funds receive approximately $25 billion of the $10 trillion ETF market, accounting for 8% of total inflows.

Despite a changing economic environment, investors are becoming more comfortable with ESG investing in 2022. Furthermore, asset managers are expanding their ESG product suite to give investors more tools for building broadly diversified ETF portfolios.
